Resistible Grace

The fourth tenet of Calvinism is irresistible grace: the idea that God saves the elect by the direct operation of the Holy Spirit. The elect are powerless to resist this grace, and the reprobates are powerless to access it. The Bible, however, is explicit that men not only can resist God’s grace, but sadly, all too often do.
