The Book of Esther

The book of Esther is unusual in the Bible. Like many stories, it has a heroine and a wise man, an adversary and a king. But its main character is never named; its prime mover is never seen. The souls in the account all act of their own free will according to their desires, interests, and judgments, but the subtle presence of a guiding hand is impossible to overlook or deny.
