The Good News of the Kingdom

The Gospel of Matthew pictures Jesus as the king over the heavenly kingdom. The Jews had been looking forward to their coming Messiah (i.e., king), but Jesus was not the king that they (or anyone else) expected. He was a humble leader who sacrificed himself to save both Jews and Gentiles (non-Jews). The story of King Jesus is good news (i.e., gospel). In this survey of the Gospel of Matthew, we learn of the gospel of the kingdom and how to obey it.
