An Honest Assessment

The his epistle, James compares the word of God to a mirror. As we look in a mirror to make sure that our clothes are on straight and our hair is right, we can look into the word of God to see whether the way we live our lives is right before God. But a mirror—whether literal or figurative—is only effective if we are honest with ourselves about what we see.
