While God Was Silent

After Malachi uttered his prophecy at the close of the Old Testament, God was silent for a period of about four hundred years. However, though no prophet spoke on God’s behalf during that time, it does not mean that God was not active. What lessons can we learn from this period of silence between the testaments?
