God uses familial metaphors—marriage and brotherhood—to describe the church, and it is not by accident. Do we associate with, care for, and defend our brothers and sisters in Christ the way we do our blood relatives? If we had to choose between our kin and our fellows of like precious faith, would we throw in our lot with our families or with the Lord's people?
