Jesus in Gethsemane

The agony that Jesus endured for our sakes began before a nail ever pierced His flesh, before He endured the derision of Pilate's men, before He stood trial in front of the Sanhedrin—as He prayed in Gethsemane. Nevertheless, shortly afterward, even as Judas betrayed Him, Jesus chose His words and actions not for His benefit, but for the benefit those around Him, even His enemies.
