Jesus teaches several lessons here that are essential for us to grasp as brothers and sisters in Christ. His points are straightforward, but very challenging. In this passage of Scripture, He destroys any idea that we can hold onto self-seeking, prideful or unmerciful attitudes and still be pleasing to God.
