Spirituality: Understanding and Developing an Elusive Trait

“One fifth of the US public and a third of adults under the age of 30 are reportedly unaffiliated with any religion but identify as being spiritual in some way” (Pew Research). Is “spiritual but not religious” (SBNR) a valid expression of the human-divine relationship? How has the SBNR affected Christians, and how should we respond to it? To find the answers to these questions, this study determines the meaning and expression of “spiritual(ity)” in the Bible.
