The Authority of King Jesus: An Examination of Authority in the Gospel of Matthew

The Gospel of Matthew stresses the kingship (and kingdom) of Christ. Accordingly, Matthew frequently discusses the concept of authority. Sadly, many people in the world today decry and dismiss authority in secular and religious contexts. But Christians must always be concerned about authority. It dictates what they believe, practice, and hope. What, then, can we learn about the authority of Jesus in the Gospel of Matthew? In this study, we will answer and apply this question. book of Acts. But it is not simply reported as routine history. Rather, you see in its pages God bringing all of His great plan to its striking culmination. We will examine this and other themes in the book of Acts this morning.
