What Will You Do in the End?

What Will You Do in the End?

Series: Sin · Temptation · Worldliness · Satan

Jeremiah paints a sad picture of the waning days of Judah before Nebuchadnezzar took them captive to Babylon. The leaders of the land were corrupt, which is bad enough in itself, but to make matters worse, the people actually enjoyed it that way:

An astonishing and horrible thing
Has been committed in the land:
The prophets prophesy falsely,
And the priests rule by their own power;
And My people love to have it so.
But what will you do in the end?
—Jeremiah 5:30, 31 (NKJV)

In a time when it seems that morality suffers wave after wave of assault day after day, each of us must ask himself/herself, “What will you do in the end?” Will you hold fast the standard of morality that God has ordained in His Scriptures, or will you be as the people of Judah in Jeremiah’s day, welcoming—or at the very least, not being terribly bothered by—the decay of righteousness around you?
