Bible Class: Life and Journeys of Paul the Apostle
On Sunday, January 3rd, our auditorium Bible class begins a study of the life and preaching journeys of Paul the Apostle.
Saul of Tarsus was a Jew fiercely committed to the Law of Moses and part of the strictest sect of the Hebrews, the Pharisees. He was convinced that Jesus of Nazareth was a fraud and that His followers were heretics. As Saul traveled to Damascus with authority from his high priest to bring back any practicing Christian Hebrews to stand trial in Jerusalem, Jesus Himself appeared to Saul and called him to carry the good news of the Christ to all peoples near and far.
Thus began the service of the most prolific gospel preacher of history besides Jesus Himself: Saul of Tarsus, or as he is better known, Paul the Apostle of Jesus Christ. Paul was largely responsible for spreading the gospel outside of Israel to much of the known world of his time, and he penned most of the letters in our New Testament. This study follows Paul from his conversion through his efforts to spread the gospel throughout Asia Minor and Europe. The dedication and unwavering faith this man displayed is both humbling and inspiring.
We welcome you to join us for this Bible study at 9:30 on Sunday mornings and 7:00 on Wednesday evenings through March. There are even Bible study materials available for this class that you can download and complete in order to be prepared.
Bible Class: History & Geography of the Bible Story
Goshen, Sinai, the Negev, Antioch, Galilee, Lycaonia, Judea. These are are not lands in fairy tales. Rather they just a handful of the names of real places where real people lived and where historic events took place. They are places where, among others, Moses, David, Paul of Tarsus, and of course, Jesus of Nazareth roamed.
On October 4th, all classes of ages high school through adult begin a study of the places where the Bible story happened using Bob & Sandra Waldron’s History and Geography of the Bible Story. We invite you to join us as we embark on this study. Sundays at 9:30 AM and Wednesdays at 7:00 PM.
